Malta, o país ocre e azul // Malta, the ocher and blue country

Eu fiquei 4 semanas em Malta estudando Inglês na escola IELS em Sliema e posso dizer que amei tudo. Eu estudava todos os dias pela manhã, logo, tinha as tardes e os finais de semana livres. Geralmente, à tarde eu andava por Sliema para conhecer o comércio local ou para apreciar as casas e suas varandas.

Entretanto, a melhor coisa para fazer em Malta é descobrir as ruas que terminam no mar. Então você vê o contraste entre as cores ocre e azul. Fantástico! Por outro lado, tão bom quanto isso, é ir para a área portuária de Sliema para vislumbrar a capital Valletta. Surpreendente!

Durante os finais de semana, eu aproveitava para ir a diferentes partes de Malta e amei cada lugar que eu fui. Nesse texto vou falar sobre os lugares mais interessantes que visitei.

Blue Lagoon na Ilha Comino - é uma pequena baía com águas rasas e cristalinas, com pequenas faixas de areia e pedras. Tem que chegar cedo porque o lugar é pequeno e muito cheio.

  

Comino

Popeye Village em Anchor Bay, um dos lugares mais bonitos da ilha. A vila de pescadores fictícia é um pequeno parque temático com teatro de fantoches, passeios de barco e personagens como Popeye, Brutus e Olivia circulando por lá.

Mdina - capital de Malta até 1570, quando foi substituída por Valetta, preserva palácios aristocráticos do século XV. Andar em suas ruas, entre edifícios no mesmo tom de bege, é uma viagem no tempo. É conhecida como a "cidade silenciosa" porque apenas 250 pessoas vivem lá.

As três cidades Senglea (ou La Isla), Cospicua (ou Bormla) e Birgu (ou Vittoriosa) são belas e históricas. Eu estive lá com uma visita guiada organizada pela escola. Mas em Senglea nós só fomos para o mirante e em Cospicua nós ficamos na área de porto. De lá fomos para Birgu, a cidade dos cavaleiros.

Gozo: A segunda maior ilha de Malta está mergulhada na história. O lugar mais importante é a Cittadella,  na capital Victoria, uma cidade-castelo fortificada na Idade do Bronze e com vestígios dos tempos neolíticos.

Você tem que ir para as cavernas marinhas para ver a beleza das cavernas e dos corais. Você não acredita na transparência e na cor da água. Há cavernas do mar no sul de Malta, Comino e Gozo (onde havia a Janela Azul, que caiu em 2017).

Valetta - é a capital e também a cidade mais turística de Malta. Foi fundada em 1566 e está repleta de edifícios históricos, igrejas e uma vista fascinante do Mar Mediterrâneo. Eu fui à Co-Catedral de São João. Maravilhosa! Cheia de detalhes sobre os quais o áudio-guia ajuda muito na apreciação. O grande momento é a capela com pinturas de Caravaggio.

I spent 4 weeks in Malta studying English in IELS school in Sliema and I can say that I loved everything. I studied every day in the morning, so had free time in afternoon and during the weekends. Usually, in the afternoon I walked around the city Sliema to know the local commerce or to appreciate the houses with its balconies.

However, the best thing to do in Malta is discover the streets that end to the sea. Then you see the contrast between the blue and the ocher colors. Fantastic! Alternatively, so good as to do this, is go to the harbor area in Sliema to glimpse the capital Valletta. Amazing!

During the weekends, I enjoyed going to different parts of Malta and I loved every place I went. In this text, I will talk about the most interesting places I visited.

Blue Lagoon on Comino Island - is a small bay with shallow, crystal clear waters, with tiny strips of sand and rocks. It has to arrive early because the place is small and very crowded.

Popeye Village on Anchor Bay, one of the most beautiful places on the island. - The fictional fishing village is a small theme park with puppet theater, boat rides and characters such as Popeye, Brutus and Olivia circling there.

Mdina - capital of Malta until 1570, when it was replaced by Valetta, preserves aristocratic palaces of the fifteenth century. Walking in its streets, between buildings in the same shade of beige, is a journey in time. It is known as the "silent city" because only 250 people live there.

The three cities Senglea (or La Isla), Cospicua (or Bormla) and Birgu (or Vittoriosa) are beautiful and historic. I was there with a guided tour organized by school. But in Senglea we only went to the gazebo and in Cospicua we stayed in the port area. From there we went to Birgu, the city of the knights.

Gozo - The second largest island of Malta is steeped in history. The most important place is the Cittadella, in the capital Victoria, a fortified castle town in the Bronze Age and with traces of Neolithic times.

You have to go to the sea caves to see the beauty of the caves and the corals. You won’t believe in the transparency and color of the water. There are sea caves in southern Malta, Comino and Gozo (where there was the Blue Window which fell in 2017).

Valetta - is the capital and also the most touristic city of Malta. It was founded in 1566 and is full of historic buildings, churches and a fascinating view of the Mediterranean Sea. I went to St. John's Co-Cathedral. Wonderful! Full of details on which the audio guide helps a lot in the appreciation. The great moment is the chapel with paintings by Caravaggio.
